I am a little confused by the names you give here. I believe that what
you call lambsquarter is amaranth.
Pig weed is something quite different, it grows in pig pens because it
is one of the few plants that even pigs won't eat.
At least that is the way I learned them years ago on the farm. Does
anyone have a

Common names change from place to place. I nibble lambsquarter in my
garden, but would never touch pigweed.
