I've been on this list for awhile, and on CP Message boards even longer. In
all that time, it still blows my mind every time I hear about how late kids
are getting diagnosed. I too wasn't diagnosed until 13 months old, but this
was in the early 1960's. I'd hoped the medical profession had made some
strides since then, but from what I've heard, not when it comes to a DX.
Thank Goodness parents today have access to information, (unlike when my
folks found out) I applaud the parents who are so involved with their
children. You might take your interest in your child's welfare for granted,
but I don't. You should all remember to sit down and take a well deserved
pat on the back once in awhile. The concern for your children is wonderful,
and I'm certain has helped them to advance more than other children in
similar circumstance - Denise.
