I purchased an IC718 a number of months ago, and have had some experience
with it as a portable rig for Field Day and classroom demos of amateur
radio. I wrote a review of the rig for the Summer, 2002 issue of Handi-ham
World, and will send you that review if you'd like. Not that I have all of
the answers, but it should give you some ideas about how I got it to work
for me.

If you'd like the review, send me your personal e-mail address, and I'll
mail it to you "off list".
