  Hi Michael and list,
I would like to see yaesu take a much deeper interest in making their rigs
accessible.

Last year I spent quite a bit of time talking to them about making the ft817
accessible. I spoke at length with Mr. Chip Margelli and also one of their
marketing folks whose name I forget right now. The response I received was
tepid at best--one of the statements made was that the blind amateur
community doesn't support Yaesu products very much. My reply, of course, was
that we aren't going to support products with our cash that we can't
use--only logical. The point was conceded very graciously.

I really would like to get an Ft817 or something comparable, or better. I
think it would be great to take a little portable hf rig to the beach for
the day and play radio.
