The time has come for the celiac community in America to better
coordinate its resources. One united organization may be more
effective in this endeavor. Though each current organization has a
specific goal, these goals could effectively be carried out as
committees within a unified organization.

Just think of the possibilities. The latest research and other pertinent
information could be shared with celiacs, the public, and medical
professionals more quickly. Combined funding would accelerate the
research process. We would speak to our legislators with one voice,
gaining their respect and support on issues that affect us. Regular
meetings of leaders in our community would result in better services
for all.

This issue has been discussed before, but now is the time to act. I
welcome all comments, including those from anyone who may have a
different perspective. I will summarize the answers.
