Special October Bonus for Colleges, Universities and Other Organizations

** To apply for the bonus, please e-mail Norman Coombs at [log in to unmask]

During the month of October, EASI is providing free registrations to its
November online Courses for members of organizations registering for the
annual subscription series of Web-based, interactive, voice clinics. This
institutional, annual subscription provides access for as many people from
that institution as want to participate in 9 events during the year, as
well as access to archives of these and other special events. The October
bonus will permit the institution to register any number of faculty or
staff to 2 of its online courses on accessible information technology. The
2 November courses are Barrier-free E-learning and Accessible Internet
Multimedia.

You can read about the courses at
http://easi.cc/workshop.htm
You can read more about the Web-based, interactive voice clinics at:
http://easi.cc/clinic.htm

The introductory annual institutional subscription registration is $750.
(The bonus courses are valued at $350.)

EASI is producing a series of synchronous, interactive, online clinics that
focus on practical tools and tricks that enable content creators with limited
technical background to produce materials that are fully accessible to
people with disabilities. Content designers want to be free too concentrate
on providing
a clear communication that can be readily understood without getting bogged
down in technical accessibility details. These presentations rely primarily
on tools already familiar to content designers. Any new applications that
are selected for demonstration will have user-friendly interfaces.

The planned 9 scheduled for the annual subscription series are:
October 16, How to create accessible Macromedia Flash.
November 20, Using WHSIWYG editors to create accessible web pages including
a detailed demonstration of the accessibility features of Dreamweaver
December 11, How to use Adobe Acrobat to create accessible PDF
January 15, How to produce accessible web pages using Microsoft word and
excel
February 19, Macromedia Contribute and its advantages for a webmaster
maintaining a accessible web site while having others do much of the upkeep
March 18, How to make Microsoft PowerPoint presentations accessible
April 15, Scanning print text into accessible electronic text
May 20, Repairing web pages with Act Verify and Watchfire
June 17, Creating accessible forms and tables

Institutions must register for the institutional annual subscription clinic
series during October in order to obtain the free registrations for its
members to either Barrier-free E-learning or Accessible Internet Multimedia
courses during November.
