Many thanks to the dozen people who took the time to respond to my
question of where to shop and eat at Kauai. In addition to the folks who
have asked for the summary, because they'll be visiting there as well, I
received great advice, as follows:
1. Try www.goodhealthpublishing.com for a book with a list of
restaurants that have gluten-free and wheat-free items.
2. Contact the Hawaii Celiac Support Group

3. E-mail address for another island

4. Site of a list of restaurants and stores in Kauai, with phone
numbers:
http://www.kauaivisitorsbureau.com/members/index.php?type=list&category=16
5. A list of markets from the same site:
Monday
Koloa Ball Park, Maluhia Road, at 12 noon
Tuesday
Kalaheo Neighborhood Center at 3:30 pm
Hawaiian Farmers Market, Hanalei at Waipa from 2pm to 4pm
Wednesday
Kapaa New Town Park (near the Armory) at 3pm
Thursday
Kilauea Neighborhood Center at 4:30pm
Hanapepe Town Park (behind the fire station) at 3:30 to
5:30pm
Friday
Vidinha Stadium parking lot on Hoolako Street in Lihue at
3pm
Saturday
Kekaha Neighborhood Center at 9am
Christ memorial Church in Kilauea from 9am to 11am.
It is always a good idea to get to the sunshine markets a little
early, giving you first choice at the fresh fruits and vegetables.
To be continued in Part 2.
