Hi,

I beleive it is the BIOS that is the limiting factor in this instance, as
you say the Chipset can handle more.

Think about it for a moment.  What was avaialable for RAM when the board
was introduced.  Cost was a concern and I think that 128M was the highest
availavle, that could be afforded by the masses.
Initally we had 16,32m,64m and 128M dimms available.
