My wife and I do this. The only thing we've done special is to
make sure that we each have our own mailbox.
Many dial-up ISPs offer this, or used to. Or you can use one of
the various email services, including free web-based services like
HotMail. Or you can regoister your own domain, and find a service
that will inexpensively host it -- that's what we've done.
