I obtained a copy of Windows XP Professional.
When beginning to run Windows XP setup, everything is fine until it
reboots the PC to start the rest of the setup process. After the first
reboot, hell breaks loose:
There is a pause then I see the Windows XP logo screen very briefly, then the screen goes black and just stays there!!!!!! I do not have any hardware that
is known to be incompatible with Windows XP.
My PC system specs:
AMD Athlon 900 mhz, 256MB PC133/100 SDRAM,
Jaton 3D Force 2 MX 32 (GeForce 2 MX 200 with 32 MB SDRAM),
SoundBlaster Audio PCI (CT5880), Soyo SY-K7VTA-B motherboard,
Maxtor 13 GB 7,200 RPM UDMA 66 IDE HDD, Fujitsu 4 GB UDMA 33 HDD (D:),
and 40x CD-ROM drive.
