Snipped a bit
All is quite normal behaviour for win2k as it handles IRQ's in a very
different way
My Machine has everything on IRQ 11 and has been working fine as is for well
over 2 years
so don't worry and enjoy the stability of 2000 pro

Subject: [PCBUILD] Have a problem and dont know how to solve it
Hello all,
I just recently installed Windows 2000 Pro on my home computer.
Please keep in mind that I have no clue how to really run this yet as I have
never worked on an NT machine ever.
I had Windows 98SE and before that Windows 98 First Edition. Thats all and
have only had puters for 3 years now.
Meaning I am not that computer literate. I know a little but thats is all.
So the problem is no matter what new drivers I put in, everying is now going
to IRQ 9.
Including my Video Card which is a 3DFX Voodoo 3-3000 AGP no TV. It has its
own AGP slot and that
should not be going in 9 and neither should my sound card.
I went to Device manager to each place where the resources are and all the
areas where you can usually change them
are faded out and locked solid. I cannot change these manually there at all.
:-(
So that is the scoop. I sure hope someone can help before this thing crashes
on me.
Best Regards,
Sue Dobbs
