Hi Suzanna~ You do have your hands full- 2 children with 2 different
medically required diets. I think over time you will find some things
that work for everyone, and try to keep specialty diet items as
uncomplicated as you can. It will be worth the initial effort to make a
list of *works for everyone* type meals.
There are lots of parents w/ children who have different serious food
allergies or auto immune reactions & it is limiting & very hard to put
into practice outside of your own safe kitchen.
Are you also subscribed to the cel-kids support group?
You might find some special *kid oriented* information, support & coping
skills there.
I'm on the other side of the fence- I'm the one with the 2 diseases (CS
& DM), raising 2 kids who don't have it (as yet). My diseases did not
rear their heads until I was in my late 30's. Still it is a juggling act
& raising kids in & of itself is a huge responsibility without adding
chronic stuff into the picture.
Still I think there is much info & support to be had in terms of common
ground.....
I'm glad this forum exists.
