If it doesn't heal within 6 weeks, it needs serious medical attention - maybe
even hospitalization. Our lower extremity sores are aggravated by loss of
circulation. New stride are being made with things like hyperbaric chambers...
forcing oxygen to the affected area. There are also some new medicines I have
seen reference to in, I believe, the online version of the "New England
Journal of Medicine".
