Bob,
Have you thought of CHO counting/insulin adjustment for CHO and/or
insulin pump? My now 15 yo son with diabetes x7 yrs, CDx8 yrs is very healthy
and has excellant diabetes control (A1C ranges 6.5-7.2 for last yr) despite
eating a very liberal diet as far as sugar content. He knows his insulin-CHO
ratio and uses a pump with Humalog insulin, boluses the correct ammount of
insulin for the carb content and his daily as well as long term blood sugar
readings do not suffer. I can not imagine going through the teen age hormone
affecting the blood sugar, voracious appetite years without the pump. Any
thoughts or questions about it email me back.
