We had to go out looking for just the right kind and size twig off of trees
for granny to make her dipping brush from. Yes, it was a nasty habit. Her
brand was brutten I think.

My maternal grandma would send me on secret mission to the store to buy her
Garrett's Snuff. The she would chew on the non-business end of a kitchen
match, dip the match in the snuff and place in her mouth. Really nasty!
