EASI December, Online Month-long Courses on Accessible Information Technology:

Barrier-free Information Technology gives an overview of what is involved
in making an entire campus information technology and computer systems
accessible to people with disabilities.  This is more than a technical
task; it requires extensive interdepartmental support and commitment
institution-wide.

Beginner Barrier-free Web Design is for people who are not technical Web
masters but who regularly design Web pages.  EASI synchronizes the
technical information about accessibility and simplifies it.  With today's
WYSIWYG editors, you can design Web pages without knowing much HTML.  If
this describes you, then you are the person for whom this course is designed.

Learning Disabilities and Accessible Information Technology is an
introduction to the many ways that accessible information technology
assists people with learning difficulties.  Because this population has no
obvious problem inputting into a computer and can readily see the monitor,
the assumption that adaptive or assistive computer technology is not useful
to them.  This is not true, and with LD comprising the largest disability
population on campus, this course is important.

Courses are entirely online using the Web for content and frequently using
e-mail for interaction among the class members.  Those requesting it will
receive continuing education units for the course.  Anyone taking 5 of
EASI's 9 courses will earn the Certificate in Accessible Information
Technology present in partnership with the University of Southern Maine.
