I'm wondering if there may be a RAM problem? Have you tried taking it out
and reseating it? Changing it?
Did this problem start on it's own, or was something changed and then it
started? You didn't say.
Have you opened the unit up?
I would also consider changing the power supply. (I'm assuming that a laptop
runs on basically the same principle as a desktop computer?)
Another thing that comes to mind is a faulty power switch. Maybe a wire has
come off or is touching somewhere?
It sounds as though something somewhere could well be shortcircuiting it.
These are just guesses, but may well be worth trying.
