This is a known issue with the HP USB driver. It installs a spooler that
actually slows ALL printing on your system. I got the info somewhere on
HP's site, but it was a year ago that I got the printer and have since
converted it back to parallel. I'll never install another USB direct
printer when USB to parallel works just like a parallel port printer.
Anyways, search HP's site and you should find the right spot. It was a
setting in the print control panel for the HP printer.
Sorry I can't be more precise, but it was a year ago...
