An article in "New Beginnings" La Leche League's bi-monthly journal states:

"according to skull studies, early childhood caries have been around for
only 8,000 to 10,000 years, which suggests that babies and toddlers remained
free of decay for about 92,000 years"

not too surprizing! Neat that it is published in a journal that alot of
people will read. The article doesnt go on to tell people to make changes
in thier diet (though it does say it is because humans started cultivating
their own food), but mainly avoid sharing toothbrushes and spoons and
stuff..sigh.
