Dear Sister Ndey,
I too relied on the kindness of Wassa and other comrades to piece together part of our history of struggle. (You must have known that I never studied history...it became impossible when one Mrs. Senghore at SAHS in the 70s made me feel the worst thing I could do at high school was to study History!!)
Yes, Pa Ali Jammeh and many other less known Gambians are worhty of national recognition. I have had private phone calls from other G-Lers suggesting projects similar to yours. But it is my own situation that is a major constraint in that regard. It is not difficult at all, but it certainly is time consuming; and instead of impressing readers on the L to expect something about Pa Ali, it takes a huge load off my shoulders to take my time and post whatever I can in due course.
Otherwise, I really envy you for your being out there getting used to Kenke and Yams, and witnessing exciting times in Ghana.
Cheers,
Sidibeh
