I know this topic has come up before. Have been trying to install a USB 2.0 card on puter.
Currently have 2 onboard 1.1 ports and add on 2 port 1.1 hooked to motherboard.
I am using an Abit KX7-333R motherboard. AMD 2100XP processor, 1024mb PC2700 memory. XP Pro operating system with all available updates installed including SP-1 patch. Card is plug and play, have driver CD and supposed to be compatible with XP.
I removed the add on 1.1 card. Installed the 2.0 PCI card. Turned the puter on, windows recogizes the card, can't find drivers, asks for CD. Then will not take the drivers and therefore will not let me install card. Have tried more than one card and driver CD to eliminate that card is bad. Will patiently wait for suggestions. Have calmly walked away from this for over a month, now ready to try install again.....
