Hi, I just bought about 20 used or pulled internal modems from a reputable ebay seller. These modems are all 56k PCI V.90 with a PCTel Chipset. I was able to locate appropriate drivers for all of them. However i have tried installing them on various brand name machines with different processor speeds. Mostly p2 350mhz, and even p3,550mhz with both Win 98 and Win 2000.
The problem i have is that once i install the modem in the PCI slot( and i tried different slot)the OS doesn't detect a new hardware. After manually loading the modem, when i perform the diagnostics i get the message that "modem not turned on or not installed". I can't imagine that all 20 of these modems are bad or incompatible with the motherboard.

If anyone have any suggestion solution or way of getting this thing work, i would appreciate a response.

Regards

Ed
