Look for the utilities "ZAP" or "WIPE" on the IBM site.
(Or with Google.com)

These will erase the first 128 clusters, or the entire hard drive.

You can then start from a "pure" drive. (No FATS, MBR, Partition Tables,
etc.)  (Wipe "might" only "do" the first two Gigs. since it is a very old program.)
