I've noticed that several members of this forum are ex-vegans. Many years
ago, I too attempted a vegan diet -- not for moral reasons but because of all
the pro-vegan propaganda that had come out at the time a la McDougall and
Ornish. Anyway, after over a year of getting progressively sicker and weaker
on such a regime, I abandoned the program. I believe that humans, like other
carnivores such as dogs, are designed to eat meat for optimum nutrition.
Therefore, I was surprised to come across this article about the world's
oldest living dog (27 year old boarder collie) who has been purportedly
reared on a vegan diet. Seems unbelievable, but it is interesting.
