Yes, some people you tell about thyroid problems will be receptive, others
won't. My sister got really mad at me when I told her that her children were
probably hypothyroid. They had similar symptoms to my children, as well as
other problems some associate to growing up hypo like dyslexxia. My mother
died from hypothryoidism, but since she wasn't diagnosed my sister isn't
likely to accept this, however her husband is hypothyroid and so is his
sister, and the truth be known But her children have been tested and can't
be.
My 18 year old daughter who still lives at home for some mysterious reason
started looking sluggish and brain dead. She said she hadn't been taking her
thyroid meds for a couple months then went back up to 2 grains. She had been
on 6 grains of Armour and doiig quite well, her blood pressure was still low
and her pulse only 72, so she wasn't getting too much. But she insists that
she doesn't want to be on that high of a dose. Why, because she is smarter
and doesn't want to sleep all the time? If she has a real reason she won't
tell me. That's the way people are, they don't need logical reasons it gets
in the way of what they feel they should do.
Why people who have problems are not ready or willing to hear that getting
their thyroids treeated, and at a high enough level is difficult to
understand but it is human nature. That's why the doctors in Canada are
attacking Dr. Derry, they do'n't "feel" they want patients to have as much
thryoid medicine as alleviating their symptoms require. They're not ready to
listen because they already know everything.
