Any parents of celiac kids had any experience dealing with this company?
They make such items at "bubble tape", etc. My daughter received some
bubble tape gum and it lists modified food starch on its label. I emailed
the company because there is NO 800 number available (or any phone number
for that matter)to ask questions. It's taken 2 weeks, but they finally
wrote back with this response:
Thank you for your interest in Amurol Confections products.
Although all our ingredients are approved by the United States Food and
Drug Administration, some of our suppliers use confidential recipes to
combine these ingredients. Consequently, through no fault of our own, we
cannot guarantee the absence of items that might be allergens to some
individuals. To be totally safe, we regretfully recommend not using Amurol
Confections products if you have any possibility of a serious allergic
reaction.
Again, thank you for your inquiry and interest.
"confidential recipes"??? nice, huh? I am so disappointed by this
response. My little girl is dying to try some of this gum. I normally
would just say, fine, they don't get my business, but when you're dealing
with a 4 yr. old who just wants to have what the other kids can have, it
makes it much harder.
Just wanted to vent. I would love to hear is anyone has comments.
Thanks.
