I was pleased to hear of so many list members who were getting good
results on betaine hydrochloride for low stomach acid. But I hadn't
really heard from anyone who had reported long term benefits & tolerance
from using these products until this weekend. Saturday, I got pretty
good confirmation that this is more than the just the latest supplement
fad. I have a friend who has suffered from gluten intolerance/IBS for
many years. I hadn't talked to her about health issues for quite a
while. I saw her at a bar-b-que this weekend & she looked great, her
skin was clear and she had gained weight (she used to have horrid ance &
look anorexic.). I asked her what she was doing to look so good. She
told me her doctor had prescibed Thorne BIO-GEST two years ago & has
gained 30 pounds! I was dumbfounded because BIO-GEST is the same product
my ND recommended I take. It contains betaine HCl, Glutamate HCl,
pepsin, pancreatin & a couple other enzymes. I haven't had any problems
taking it since that first miserable week. I'm hoping I will get long
term benefits from this as well. ~Valerie in Tacoma, WA
