Hi,
Does any one else have a reaction to trigger foods manifesting as loss of bladder control, either mild or severe?
I react to all of these foods...Gluten, soy, sugar, dairy and corn. Some are stronger that others...Even a minute amount of soy protein causes an immediate bladder weakness and a sort of mental confusion.
Gluten intake (2 pieces of toast)- took 1/2 hour before the incontinence came on
Cheese took over a day ( at first I thought it must not be a trigger!
I took the blood test 2 days ago...Before that I had done two weeks on an elimination diet - No Gluten, soy, sugar, dairy and corn and peanuts. I ate plenty of gluten the day before the blood test...I know this is not ideal...
On GF "PLUS" diet - the incontinence was almost completely gone, and now that I am going back on it, I feel a wonderful energy, joy and humor returning to me...It seems like it has been years since I felt as good as I have felt this evening....I don't think I could go back to the old diet even for more tests...it is so obviously bad for me....
I've heard that if a person has this many food sensitivities, then it is a big indicator that it really might be CD
My daughter had more classic symptoms that cleared up after one week on GF - but she is still tired...so she may also have things beyond just the gluten...
Thank your for your help! I don't see this symptom listed "Officially" but I think people may have this or something like it more than they admit, even to their doctors..
