This is just one of the articles on the Mercola site that had previously
bounced around the internet and are called
"urban legends" or "internet quackeries", like the Mind Wave Therapy and
Floride articles. You usually see the same articles on UFO and ESP
type sites when you search for the same article.

But the research I have seen is that microwave cooking is one of
the safest, on the safe end of the spectrum of cooking methods, like
baking. In terms of producing carcinogens, it is one of the safest.
Methods like grilling and frying are worse; e.g. you see many guides to
grilling that instruct you to microwave meat before grilling
in order to cook it most of the way before grilling a short time,
and therefore reduce carcinogens.
