I know that it's normal to become lactose intolerant
as you get older. My
gradual decline began around age 19, but I've heard of
people developing
lactose intolerance at all ages. I have secondary
lactose intolerance,
which means it was caused by a disease, rather than
all by itself. I haven
t heard of anyone becoming suddenly allergic to milk,
but of course that
doesn't mean it can't happen. I wonder if you were
always allergic, but had
such a mild reaction that you didn't associate it with
dairy? My son is 4
and has been allergic to milk since birth. WE DIDN'T
FIND THIS OUT UNTIL
JUST 6 MONTHS AGO! Can you believe that?! Because his
reaction wasn't
severe, it took us that long to figure out what was
causing his symptoms (it
also helps if your Pediatrician will listen to your
concerns and not dismiss
them). There's also a chance that your reaction is
caused by something else
- such as an illness, pregnancy, etc and in this case
may be temporary.
Have you consulted with a doctor yet? They "should" be
able to provide you
with more information.

In the meantime if you need any advice or want to ask
any questions, this is
a great board for it.

All the best,
Debby
