Since both my parents are now dead, I asked my sister about this
(she's 2 1/2 yrs older). I went away to Special Ed boarding school
from 7yrs old, then Uni, then married, so I never actually lived at
home for more than a few weeks in school holidays after age 7. She
said holidays were like the return of the prodigal son, but she said
she didn't mind 'cos it never lasted that long!!
The thing she remembers resenting most is being made to come and
visit me every other Sunday afternoon, although I remember her being
"excused" this after she was 12.
