Hi Brent,

Welcome to the list. I don't post mail a lot
but am pleased to be on the list for the sharing,
help & support from/with some great people.

I have mild Diplegic C.P., work full time, drive
a car, and live a full life. I am 43 yrs old.

I live in Melbourne, Australia.

I too noticed during the last 5-10 years that my
movements seem slightly slower, have trouble
using stairs and tire more easily.

I went to a kinder/school for 3 yrs for C.P.
children before going to 'normal' school & Uni.

3 years ago I needed outpatient rehab after major
surgery which was quite a surprise. This was due to
deconditioning due to being at home for 6 weeks post op.
The physio said that because of the C.P. the enforced
rest just weakened further my muscles.

I too have searched literature looking for documentation
about this deterioration, seeing as we and our parents weren't
prepared for these age related changes.
Just one more thing to accept as a person with C.P. but I have
a lot to be thankful for. So I keep up the exercise & get the
rest I need when I'm very tired.

Hope this helps Brent.

Bye, Carrie.
