I had my thyroid removed last year due to a suspicious tumor. At first I was
on Synthyroid but was recently put on Armour Thyroid. I take 120 mg. per
day. I don't have my recent labs right now but suspect some of my problems may
be due to low levels of Thyroid.

I have severe constipation with BMs about once every two weeks, then it's
usually diarrhea.
I have been having cramps and pain in low down in my abdonim continuously for
more than two years with a mild diverticulitis dx.
I have indigestion and sour stomach all the time.
I have numbness in my face and tongue.
I'm tired an hour after I wake in the morning after sleeping all night.
My muscles from my hips down hurt all the time, whether I exercise or not.
My eyes are incrediabley dry.
My glands in my neck hurt under the jaw area.
I'm irritable and depressed and have difficulty thinking clearly at times
with memory problems.
I have headaches that last for days.
My feet have pains in the bones.
Pains shoot down my buttocks and legs.
I have mood swings.
My throat always hurts. (That way for months and months)
I have a funny taste in my mouth, my gums hurt, and in some places I have a
numb feeling in my gums. My teeth all hurt and the dentists don't know why.

Last time I reviewed my TSH with my doctor he thought I was hyperthyroid. My
TSH at that time was around 3 or 4. I laughed when he told me that! I
couldn't believe it. That's when he put me on the Armour at 60 mg per day. A month
later he raised it to 120 mg. That was about 2 months ago. Needless to say I
still feel horrible. He thinks my problem is primarily depression. Yeah, I'm
depressed all right. I'm tired of hurting so much and feeling so lousy, but I
think it's secondary to the other things I have going on. I think I may have
to fire my GP but don't know who else I can see. The endocrinologist thought
the GP could handle my followup after my thyroid was removed so he won't see
me anymore. I live in Montana. Does anyone have any advice or the name of a
good thyroid specialist for me?

I know lots of these things could be low thyroid but don't know about some of
the others.

Thanks.
Tia
