>When I was looking at that my attention was brought to the part about
"x-ray exposure for tonsils".>
Skipper, I think we are on to something.
40 years ago, at age 6, I have a very long history of throat and ear
infections. The doctors recommended they remove my tonsils.
After my tonsils were removed, within a few weeks, a lump appeared in
my throat (which I still have). The doctors at the time were so
clueless, they told my mom it was "just" an enlarged thyroid, but I
didn't need to worry about it until I was in my 20's, and I would
probably outgrow it. No biopsy, no bloodwork, nothing.
I had always been a skinny kid, but over the next 10 years, gained
weight, got lethargic, moody and really grew to hate physical education
because of my lack of coordination. I also started having more
difficulty in school (learning disablity, I learned 20 years later)
after starting school a year early because of my aptitude.
Can't help but wonder about cause and effect.
