Is there an optimum time to take thyroxine and also should I split the dose
between morning and afternoon.

Hi Lynda, Welcome aboard.

Thyroxine has a long half life. It will be a month to 6 weeks to notice its
effects, There is no need to split doses over a day. There's no optimum
time for pill taking, though it is important to take it the same way every
day and avoid taking with pills which have significant concentrations of
metals (not trace elements) such as iron, magnesium, calcium, etc., as
absorption of thyroxine can be impeded.
