Hi,
I'm a newbie to this group having been diagnosed hypothyroid only last week. I have been sick for 3 years and have just found a doctor willing to listen to me.
I have been rxd Thyroxine which I believe is Synthroid in the USA.
I started on 25mcg and increased to 50mcg yesterday. Today, I had the best day that I have had for the last 3 years, not entirely pain free but feeling much, much better. It didn't last the whole day though, I crashed at about 3pm which leads me to my question for the group -
Is there an optimum time to take thyroxine and also should I split the dose between morning and afternoon. I took the whole 50mcg before breakfast today and, as I said, I felt good for most of the day but then crashed. So would it be better if I took half in the morning and half at night.
What about when I increase to 100mcg - should I take it in one dose, or two, or three?
