I'm trying to find a dr. in the Dayton, Columbus, or Cinncinati, Ohio areas
that is good with thyroid problems. My current endo wants to treat me
according to my labs, and I feel miserable. I've got positive antibodies -
he thinks its Hashi's. I've gained 20 pounds in 9 months and he isn't
willing to help me with that issue either. Thyroid problems run in my
family (aunt, cousin, grandmother, grand aunt - all on my fathers side of
family). I'm cold, foggy, coarse hair, dry skin with weird bumps,
constipated, puffiness around eyes, my tongue has teeth marks, my socks
leave impressions, my hands and feet swell when I walk, I'm sluggish, no
sex drive, shortness of breath, high cholesteral (I'm an extremely healthy
eater - no fried foods, mayo's, only skim milk and skim cheese for the last
5 years), bursitis in shoulder, slow heart rate and b.p., and I am positive
that I am retaining water.
My current endo thinks I'm depressed, not eating correctly, and not
exercising. This is impossible. I'm very active - surfing, sea kayaking,
sailing, rock climbing, caving, hiking, camping, canoeing, mountain biking,
rollerblading. I do major activities every weekend.
Please help - I'm desperate.
