Hello. I recently contacted Safeway about the gluten status of their multivitamins. I received the following response from them today. Just passing on information ...

Stefanie
(Virginia, USA)

Dear Ms. Horsfield:

I am writing in response to an e-mail I received regarding the multi-vitamins and I appreciate the opportunity to respond.

You inquired about whether or not our iron free, multi-vitamins contained gluten. Thank you for your patience in this matter. I just received the answer to your question this morning. The vitamins have starch and gelatin in them, so should not be considered gluten free. I hope this information is helpful. We do have a list of gluten-free products available. Let me know if you are interested and I will send it to you.

If I can be of any further service to you please feel free to contact me again or call us toll free at 1-877-723-3929.

Thank you for your time and thank you for shopping with Safeway.

Sincerely,

Sherry Mariscal
