I have Graves' Disease and am being treated with thyroid medications.
Since October 1995, I have been taking Tapazole (methimazole) initially at
20 mg. In April 1996 I became hypothyroid. The Tapazole was reduced to 10
mg and Levoxyl (levothyroxine - generic Synthroid) was added at 50 mcg.
Several months later the Levoxyl was increased to 75 mcg.

According to lab tests, I am in remission and my endocrinologist and I have
decided to stop the meds.  The endo suggests stopping the meds all at once;
I'd prefer tapering off. Can anyone who has come off thyroid meds tell me
what their experience was? I'd also appreciate a time schedule or protocol.
Many thanks.
