Hello,
A while ago I wrote how my doctor sent me a note to see someone in
mental health because I had all these "complaints" and he said my tsh
was 1.6 and I was fine. Well, I've seen the word *fibromyalgia*, so I
did some research. There is a lot on the internet! While reading aloud
to my husband, his mouth dropped open and he said, "That is you,
Diane!". A couple of weeks ago, I made an appointment with a therapist I
see occasionally for what she calls a "reality check". I explained to
her what happened with the doctor and how upset I was. She asked what my
symptoms were. I was half way thru the list when she said that sounded
like fibromyalgia to her. Why could she see something when the doctor
could not? So I made copies of some of the articles I found written by
doctors and mailed them to my doctor. I don't expect to hear from him,
but I feel better for doing that.
A friend of mine at work was telling me last night about how she has
been feeling. It all sounded familiar! She hasn't spoken to her doctor
yet. But I told her what happened to me. We'll see what happens to her.
I belong to an HMO. They don't like when a person changes doctors too
often. I had one doctor I saw for about 15 years. Finally changed a
couple of years ago.
Sorry for going on, but wanted to tell what happened.
Diane
