what the general consensus is about these kinds of products:

- do they work/help at all?
- which ones are good/useful?
- which ones are "snake oil"?
- are they okay to take together or with my armour or what?<<

I read an article (I think on Mary Shomon's site) some time ago about
Maca Root.  The general theory is that the extract helps rebalance the
endocrine system and can help with thyroid and menopause problems
(generally in addition to hormone supplements).  I won't say it is cheap
but I was impressed by the site at www.wholeworldbotanicals.com.  I
bought the powder version but I thought it was unpalatable.  I keep
meaning to get the extract in capsule form but have not tried the
supplement for any length of time.  Maca contains minerals (including
iron) and fatty acids.  Due to the iron content I would recommend taking
it separately from thyroid supplements.
