Hello. I am moving to Jerusalem, Israel, in a few weeks and am interested in
hearing from people familiar with how hypothyroidism is treated in Israel.
In particular, which medical plan should I join? Are Israeli doctors open to
alternative treatments - are drugs like Armour and Cytomel available? What
do I need to do to transfer my Synthroid prescription? And what else should
I know, coming from America?
More about me: I am 23 years old, diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis
three and a half months ago. My endocrinologist started me on 100 mcg
Synthroid and now I'm up to 137 mcg. My TSH is down to 1.6 but I still don't
feel better.
Also, if anyone with hypothyroidism has served in the IDF, please let me
know how that worked.
Thank you very much,
Nathan G
