A common cause for painful / crampy periods or difficult PMS is inadequate
function. You may well continue to be hypothyroid. Remember, thyroid status is a
Diagnosis, not the results of a blood test.

You may want to get a few basal temperatures on yourself at various times
during the month. If your basal temperature is below about 97.8 degrees
Fahrenheit, you may well be on an inadequate dose or inappropriate kind of thyroid
replacement.
