Thank you for your reply. Interesting, the soft palette suggestion.
(Since I am taking it in bed and trying NOT to wake up too much, I
believe my half-tablet gets stuck first there anyway, then I swallow
some more water and then it goes down!)
Because I have to take cortisol replacement doses of steroids, I
usually have been advised to spread out my calcium, etc. throughout the
day. I do take the larger dose of calcium in the evening, as you
suggest. Perhaps I can also take some at mid-day. That would be 7
hours after my morning synthroid dose at 5:30 AM. Should be ok, right?

ps-- an addisonian friend just emailed me that, when she started
synthroid, much of her hair fell out!! and then grew back again, of
course.... I didn't know that could happen... yikes!
