In ThyroidManager.org I saw a mention of a TSH test on Americans and the
average mean came out to be 1.5. The average mean in my reference was 1.68, so
that's not much different. Of course, in the USA study I did not read they
excluded the ones with known thyroid problems, so maybe that's why there's any
difference at all.
Anyway, if the lab showed the distribution curve like this, instead of giving
the reference range, it would probably enlighten some doctors. I think even
in Wilson's book it showed a curve that was normally distributed, which is a
lot more symetrical and doesn't make the point in how 1.25 is a lot more
common that anything over 1.25.
