Add also to the list non-caloric sweeteners, MSG (Monosodium Glutamate),
and saturated fats. They do give a hefty insulin response without the
sugar. So, even in sugar restriction the body could still be in insulin
releasing mode and be in up-phase metabolism (anabolism). In this high
insulin level, the body tries to keep on storing the blood sugar
unsuccesfully with resulting post-prandial (after meal) hypoglycemia.
The body is unable to release Glucagon which is the releasing agent for
stored sugars. This results in even more resistance even in the fat
cells until all the ingested sugar just remain in the bloodstream --
over long periods of pancreatic overwork, the islet cells tire out and
decrease in viable numbers and this results in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
