I have this book. Dr. Siegal has 40 years experience treating obese
hypothyroid patients. I followed his 30-day test diet to the letter and
actually lost 23 pounds. (I have hypothyroidism, take replacement meds and
have had great difficulty losing weight.)

My weight loss indicated I am getting enough thyroid meds. If no weight
loss occurs while following this diet, a diagnosis of hypothyroidism may be
a possibility and would require investigation.

While following the diet I exercised faithfully by walking every day.
