Hi all
I am not sure of the procedure, but it would be great if those who were
qualified wrote a research paper which could be posted to Medline.
I can take in copies of articles on websites, Broda Barnes book, Dr. Arem's
book on T3, but even the friendly Specialists all say the same thing - it is
undocumented and unsubstantiated - they won't consider these - and so many
are receiving the same treatment!
If, in Australia we have the appropriate adrenal tests and thyroid function
tests and these all show in the normal range - it is nigh impossible for
most to get a hearing and to even be able to trial some adrenal hormone
medication! Re low functioning adrenal glands - naturopaths may diagnose
this, but Endos, Specialists etc all say that this is a theory peculiar to
the naturopathic profession and there is no medical evidence for this!!
Even a highly recommended chinese herbalist who I paid a fortune to see,
told me I had CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and that I needed to focus on
getting my liver to function properly - and I must go home and lie down!
She trivialized my assertion that my thyroid seemed to me to be the
problem!! Well I refused to spend the $100 on herbal stuff and persisted
in finding a Dr who would allow me to try T3 and raise my T4 - I was lucky.
My persistence paid off - I found a Specialist - but there are many who
don't have that luck! And guess what - my liver started functioning the
best it has for years!!!!!! - no longer constipated, digestive problems back
to normal after 15 years - fluid retention reduced - able to form urine
properly etc etc.
So we do need help as non-professional patients trying to get someone to
listen!! - and a great weapon would be a paper we can access backing up
theories - available on Medline!!
As I said I don't know the procedure required for this - how can we support
those who could do it?
