EASI will take the jargon out of Web design and out of the technical
requirements for creating accessible Web pages.
Course syllabus, registration fee and registration is available at
http//easi.cc/workshops/easiweb.htm

While the month-long course officially begins Monday, registrations will be
accepted all the first week in June.

The course is based on the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Content
Accessibility Guidelines version 2 which were released in Dec. 2008. Your
site probably won't require changes if they were accessible under version 1
of the guidelines, but you will want to be up-to-date by understanding the
new version.

Web pages can be created using Universal Design principles permitting Their
use by people with different browsers, different connection speeds, palm
pilots, PDA's and by people with disabilities using Adaptive computer
technology. The course will not require an extensive knowledge of HTML as
it assumes that designers are working in some Web authoring sofware that
does the actual Web coding for the designer.
EASI courses are entirely online, month-long and provide email interaction
with the instructor. Each lesson includes an assignment of several
questions to be submitted. These are to help the instructor know whether
you are understanding the main points of a lesson and are not for
grading. On successfully finishing the course, you will receive an email
document recognition your completion of the course. While a short
extension beyond the month's time limit may be possible, those who do not
finish in the month will normally, at no extra cost, be placed in the next
course presentation.
