If he did not install to seperate partitions or create distinct folders for
each o/s, he is cooked.

For each install is pointed to the C: partition where the MBR is telling it
the active partition and o/s resides.
No other place to look.

I suggest to get Partition Magic and try to salvage his existing partition
data by creating another (2) partitions and installing XP to the new FAT32
formated partition.
You then may be able to salvage his Mil install by going thru a repair with
Win Millen.

It is always best to install XP with a fresh install and not update or on
top of another o/s. While it is possible and doable, seems like problems
arise.
